Raffles in the artisan community are one of the oldest forms of sales distributing limited quantities of goods while reaching a wide audience. The concept is that some form of entry ticket is given from potential customer to the artisan. At a determined date/time a random drawing of tickets takes place based on the available or projected volume of goods the artisan is able to distribute and sell. Before products are distributed or sometimes even made the drawn participants are invoiced to pay for the highlighted product(s) of the raffle.
At HWS we consider raffles to be important for building trust and engaging our community. For a raffle to meet our standards they must,
- Collect the right kind of information on the raffle ticket to prevent abuses of the raffle system. E.g. E-mail, Shipping Address
- Draw winners in interesting and completely insane ways often broadcast on live youtube.
- After invoicing deliver the goods!
